Afghanische Journalistenschule braucht Bücher und Lernmittel
Wie die Unesco mitteilt benötigt die Journalistische Fakultät der
Universität Kabul dringend Lehrbücher und Lernmittel für die Kurse die
im
März beginnen werden.
MArtin Hadlow, Teamleiter der Unesco in Afghanistan hat die
Mediengemeinschaft eingeladen Bücher oder Lehrmittel zu den Themen
Medien
Journalismus und Telekommunikation unabhängig von Sprache und Region zu
spenden.
In den letzten Monaten haben internationale Medienvereinigungen die
Wichtigkeit der Entwicklung von unabhängigen Medien im vom Krieg
zerissenen
Afghanistan unterstrichen. In einem Bericht aus dem vergangenen Dezember
riefen neun Pressefreiheitsorganisationen die internationale
Gemeinschaft
auf , der Ausbildung afghanischer Medienvertreter Priorität einzuräumen.
Ausgearbeitet von Gruppen unter anderem, Artikel 19, die Internationale
Journalistenvereinigung IFJ und das Kommitee zum Schutz von Journalisten
(CPJ) besagt der Bericht: " Die Struktur der indigenen Medien wird eine
wesentliche Rolle bei der Gestaltung der sozialen und politischen
Zukunft
des Landes spielen"
die Schaffung einer inneren Medien Umgebung, so der Bericht weiter, sei
eine
lebenswichtige Vorbereitung für Frieden, Stabilität und Demokratie in
Afghanistan".

Die Journalistische Fakultät hat verschiedene Ideen und Pläne fertig um
die
nächste Generation von Journalisten und MEdienmanagern in Afghanistan
auszubilden.
Aber zur Zeit ist die größte Sorge das fehlen von Büchern und anderen
Lehrmitteln
"Die derzeitige Situation der Fakultätsbibliothek ist gleich null und
mit
dem Beginn der ersten Uni-Kurse am 22. März ist jede Hilfe herzlich
willkommen um eine kleine Bibliothek in der Fakultät aufzubauen."sagt
Hadlow.
Spenden sollten zur Weiterleitung an das UNESCO Büro in Islamabad an

AFGHAN JOURNALISM SCHOOL NEEDS BOOKS, TRAINING MATERIALS

With classes scheduled to begin in March, the Faculty of Journalism
at Kabul University in Afghanistan is in desperate need of textbooks
and other training materials, according to a statement released by
the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO).
Martin Hadlow, the UNESCO team leader in Afghanistan, has invited
the professional media community to donate any books or materials
on media, journalism, and telecommunications to the school,
regardless of language or region.
In recent months, international media groups have emphasized the
importance of developing independent media in war-torn Afghanistan.
In a report issued last December, nine freedom of statement groups
called on the international community to make the training of all
Afghan media workers a priority.
Developed by groups including Article 19, the International Federation
of
Journalists (IFJ) and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the
report said, "The structure of indigenous media will be a significant
factor in shaping the social and political future of the country." The
creation of an inclusive media environment, the report added, is a
"crucial prerequisite for peace, stability, and democracy in
Afghanistan."

The Faculty of Journalism has several ideas and plans ready to
put into operation to train the next generation of journalists and
media managers in Afghanistan. But right now, its most urgent
need is for books and other training materials.
"The current situation of the faculty's library is zero, and with the
first university courses scheduled for March 22, all help is deeply
welcomed to rebuild a small library within the faculty," Hadlow said.
